Since 2009, Jewish Circle Theatre has presented new plays, new stagecraft, and new talent to the Bay Area. JCT has introduced a rich variety of of productions and theatre-related discussion and education, including original plays, children’s theatre, playback theatre, English language adaptations of Israeli plays, as well as "Bama Ivrit," community acting classes in the Silicon Valley and in the East Bay.
From the outset, without the benefit of community funding and support, two passionate leaders, Ofra Daniel and Roni Alperin, and an enthusiastic group of volunteers have built a theatre that captivates audiences.
Our vision is to create a new form of on-stage dialogue to join those attending our performances of different backgrounds, generations and affiliations in conversation.
We believe that, along with the enjoyment and enrichment of stimulating theatre experience, our audiences develop new understanding through which compassion emerges. We envision each unique, provocative and stirring performance as a bridge to open-hearted inclusion, mutual respect and generosity.
The Jewish Circle Theatre is founded on the premise that through live stimulating theatre performances, our company has the potential to become a center and a point of connection to weave together the diverse Jewish community of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
